Larry L. Levitt, 79, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.
Private family services will be held. Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham is assisting the family.

Larry was born on July 11, 1938, in Effingham, IL, the son of Coleman James and Audrey Aleen (Hampton) Levitt. He was united in marriage to Cheryl L. Henkelman on April 14, 1975.
Larry was a truck driver for Stevens Industries, Inc. for twelve years and retired from Sherwin-Williams after seven years. Larry loved to hunt. He also loved having his grandchildren around. Larry always enjoyed meeting his brother and friends for coffee every morning at Hardee’s or McDonald’s to tell stories.
Larry is survived by his wife, Cheryl Levitt of Effingham; children, Amy (Howard) Cain of Mason, Travis (Larissa) Levitt of Centralia, MO, Kristi (David) McCord of Indianapolis, IN, and Trenton (Alicia) Levitt of Mason; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother, Lloyd (Carolyn) Levitt of Effingham.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Levitt; and sister, Norma (Carl) Heuerman.
