Mildred 'Mid" Marie Griffy, 88, of Louisville, Illinois passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 8:55 a.m. at Mount Vernon Countryside Manor, Mount Vernon.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 19 at noon at Red Brush Christian Church with Bro. Dusty Elmore officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the church, rural Louisville. Burial will be in Red Brush Cemetery, rural Louisville. Mildred was born February 18, 1924 in Clay County, the daughter of Henry C. and Beulah B. (Fugate) Daugherty. She married Edward Wayne Griffy July 3, 1943 in St. Charles, Mo. She cooked for the Louisville Rotary Club, loved to quilt, cook and listen to music. She was a member of Red Brush Christian Church.
Survivors include daughter-in-law, Pamela Wooden; brother, Ralph (wife Diane) Daugherty of Xenia, Gary (wife Marge) Daugherty of Louisville; sister, Lucille Roark of Champaign; sister-in-law, Margene Daugherty of Aurora; three grandchildren, Christopher Wayne Griffy of Salem, Jennifer Lynn White of Mount Vernon and Jeffrey Le Griffy of St. Louis, Mo. and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward June 6, 1985; parents; son, Darrell Wayne Griffy; brothers, James Daugherty and Delbert Daugherty and sisters, Dorothy Griffy, Lois Habbe and Donna Ashley.
