Tim Flach, 78, of Montrose passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, surrounded by his loving family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 29 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis, with burial at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church Cemetery in Montrose. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at St. Francis Church with a 6:00 p.m. parish wake service. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital, St. Rose of Lima Church in Montrose, or the donor's choice.

Tim was born on October 7, 1939 to Ermund and Agnes (Swingler) Flach. He married Mary Lou Heuerman on October 15, 1960 and she survives. He was a long time member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Montrose. Tim worked at Caterpillar, had a Rawleigh Products sales route, was a cook at Trailways Restaurant, and farmed with his brother, Denis. He got started in the spraying business with Louie Meyer, and then went on to continue with his own spraying service, Custom Crop Service in Montrose, eventually acquiring the Newton Terminal and the Jewett Farm Center. Tim enjoyed RV traveling, camping and cooking. He was an excellent cook for the deer camps, especially Camp Half-Rack. Such a good time was had by all over many nights listening to his stories. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Tim is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Lou, of Montrose; five sons, Tony (Karen), Chris (Lori), Kevin (Lylah), Dan (Christy), and Gary (Julie), all of Montrose; eighteen grandchildren, Amanda Flach, Jethro (Emily) Flach, Emilee Flach, Austin Flach, Dalton Flach, Aaron (Selena) Flach, Kelly (Christopher) Schultz, Courtney Flach, Alex Flach, Connor Flach, Maria (Zack) Hanratty, Bethany (Jeff) Ungrund, Lauren Flach, Morgan Flach, Shelby (Dalton) Hinterscher, Seth Flach, Hunter Flach, and Devin Flach; six great-grandchildren, Abraham Flach, Liam Hanratty, Bailey Hanratty, Logan Lohman, Summer Knight, and Maverick Hinterscher; sister, Pat Wendt; and sister-in-law, Janice Flach.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Tanner Flach; and brothers, Adrian Flach and Denis Flach.
