Elizabeth A. "Betty" Ruholl, 78, of Lillyville died Monday afternoon, January 22, 2018 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 26 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lillyville, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the church with a 4:00 p.m. parish rosary. Memorial donations may be made to the donor’s choice.

Betty was born November 14, 1940, the daughter of Albert J. and Dorothy A. (Brummer) Deters. She married Andrew P. Ruholl on August 13, 1960 and he preceded her in death on December 30, 2017. She was a long time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lillyville. Betty was a lifelong homemaker and part time prep cook at Lakeland Nursing Home and Ponderosa. She loved to bake, can, sew, play cards and work in the garden. Her biggest joy was her grandchildren and for the last two years, her great-grandchildren. Her favorite pastime on Saturday evenings was watching, “Molly B”, polka music.

Betty is survived by her two sons, Dan (Jill) Ruholl of Teutopolis and Dennis Ruholl of Lillyville; three daughters, Karen (Chris) Jansen of Sigel, Karla (Doug) Probst of Teutopolis, and Kathy Ruholl of Lillyville; eleven grandchildren, Michelle Herrmann, Dustin Ruholl, Beth Brummer, Chad Jansen, Becky Schumacher, Brooke Dirks, Brianna Waldhoff, Ted Jansen, Todd Jansen, Ellie Ruholl, and Dane Ruholl; five great-grandchildren, Drasen Ruholl, Kinley Brummer, Lydia Schumacher, Albert Herrmann, and Celia Dirks; siblings, Pauletta Will of Teutopolis, Donald (Norma) Deters of Teutopolis and Raymond (Jeannie) Deters of Teutopolis.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband; great-grandson, Daniel Ruholl; sister, Mary Ann Deters and brother-in-law, Raymond Will.
