Mildred A. “Tibby” Buehnerkemper, 91 of Teutopolis, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 17, 2018 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 20 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. A CCW rosary will be held at 4:30 p.m., with a parish prayer service to be held at 6:30 p.m., Friday evening at the church. Visitation will immediately follow the rosary and conclude at 8:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels or to the donor’s choice.

Mildred was born March 26, 1926 in Island Grove, the daughter of Paul and Elizabeth (Bierman) Meinhart. She married Clair J. “Tip” Buehnerkemper on September 18, 1948 and he preceded her in death in 2003. Mildred was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis and the St. Francis Council of Catholic Women. She was a lifelong homemaker and was known locally as a decorator with her wallpapering. Mildred also worked with Meals on Wheels for many years.

Mildred is survived by her five sons, Mike (Joan) of Teutopolis; Jeff (Darlene) of Teutopolis, Kurt (Linda) of Effingham, Brad (Elaine) of Teutopolis and Tom (Cari) of Teutopolis; daughter, Elaine (Joseph) Siegel of Big Sandy, TN; brother, Louis Meinhart of Island Grove; sister, Ruth Diebel of Effingham; 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Dan; brother, Earl; sister, Rosella Laley and daughter-in-law, Gerry.
