Dorothy Hope Turner-Kappes, 93, of rural Neoga, Illinois, passed away at 5:05 P. M. Wednesday, December 20, 2017, in the Heartland Christian Village of Neoga, Illinois.

Hope was born November 18, 1924, in Mattoon, Illinois, the daughter of Albert and Lenora (Herzog) Ebardt. She was a Charter member of Lake Mattoon Sailing Club and "Y' Flyer Fleet # 39. Hope married Charles C. Turner in Atwood, Illinois and Mr. Turner passed away May 22, 1992. She later married George W. Kappes, February 24, 2001, in Tuscola, Illinois. Mr. Kappes passed away November 7, 2007.

Hope leaves one son, Charles "Chet" Turner and wife Lela of Lake Mattoon; three daughters, Yolanda "Lonnie" Perry and husband Dwight of Lake Paradise,  Janet "Jan" Kappes of Arcola, IL and Juanita "Neydie" Kingan and husband Joe of Whitefish, MT; one sister, Jacquiline "Jackie"  Daily of Mattoon, IL; five grandchildren, four Great grandchildren.

Hope was preceded in death by her two husbands, Charles  Turner and George Kappes; one brother and eight sisters. Memorials may be made to the Lake Mattoon Sailing Club, in care of Bill Totten, 109 North Maple St., Effingham, Il 62401, or Camp New Hope 1364 County Road, 100 East - Neoga, IL 62447.

Per the wishes of Hope, there will be no Services. Burial will be in the Dodge Grove Cemetery in Mattoon, Illinois. The Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, is in charge of arrangements.
