Kenneth L. “Kenny” Chapman, 92, of Willow Hill, IL passed away on Monday Nov.13, 2017 at Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong, IL.

Celebration of Kenny’s life will be 3:00pm on Sunday, November 19 at Pulliam Funeral Home Oblong, IL. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery, rural Jasper County with Military rites conducted by Crawford Co. V.F.W. Post #4549. Visitation will be from 1:00- 3:00pm on Sunday at the funeral home. Expression of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to the Crawford County V.F.W. Post # 4549 with envelopes available at or may be mailed to Pulliam Funeral Home P.O. Kenny was born in Jasper County, IL on June 18, 1925 to Evertt and Hazel (Faught) Chapman. In 1947 he married Gracie Burk who preceded him in death on Feb.1, 1964. On Nov. 1964 he married Vonda Goff who preceded him in death in 2003. On Aug. 30, 2013 he married Dana Lewis (Cook) Finney who survives. Kenny worked in construction for 10 years, was a truck driver for Teamsters Union Local 126 Mattoon, IL and was owner/operator of Chapman Sanitation Service for 14 years. Kenny served in the United States Navy during WWII and he was a member of the Willow Hill United Methodist Church. Kenny previously lived in Gary, IN before moving to Willow Hill, IL in 1959. Kenny was an elder at his church, belonged to the Ste. Marie American Legion Post#0932, Effingham V.F.W. Post#1769 and just transferred his membership to Crawford County V.F.W. Post #4549 in Robinson, IL. He graduated from Oblong High School in 1943 and was a member of Modern Woodmen, Royal Neighbors and Ambraw Eagles Club in Newton, IL. Kenny enjoyed country dancing, flea markets, walking his dog, reading and watching westerns and was a fan of John Wayne. Kenny was a daily attendee at the local barbershop to keep up on what was going on in the area.

Kenny is survived by his wife Dana Chapman, Newton, IL; one son and daughter-in law Kenneth Bruce and Kala Chapman, Newton, IL; three daughters and son-in-law Terrie Lee Chapman, Montana, Cleo Lynn Hightshoe, Palestine, IL and Shelia Jean and Mark Menasco, Law Vegas, NV; two step sons and step daughters-in-law Terry F. and Paula Rose, Altamont, IL and Kenneth Wayne and Sandy Rose, Altamont, IL; step daughter Nancy Jo Larimer, Effingham, IL. Kenny is also survived by three sisters and brothers-in-law Louise and Don Turner, Marshall, IL, Doris Stifle, Robinson, IL and Patricia and Marcus Rasmussen, Bloomington, IL; step brother and step sister-in-law Bill and Billie Cox, Oblong, IL along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and two brothers-in-law Bob Tracy, Robinson, IL and Lee Bogaczyki, White Heath, IL.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, one grandson, three sisters Macie Hollinger, JoAnn Tracy and Donna Bogaczyki, son-in-law Jack Hightshoe and brother-in-law Bob Stifle.
