Elenor R. Elliott, age 87 of Donnellson, formerly of Keyesport, IL. passed away at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Effingham, where she had been a patient for eight days.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 3 at McKendree Chapel Cemetery, near Keyesport, IL with Dr. Ward Sussenbach officiating. For those who desire, memorials in Elenor's memory may be made to the Greenville Senior Citizens Center at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville.

Elenor Regina May Eveland, the daughter of Oscar Benjamin Franklin Eveland and Rosetta May Jamison Eveland, was born on August 5, 1930 in Effingham. In her youth, the family moved to Keyesport, IL. where Elenor attended the public schools and grew up. Elenor and James Eugene Elliott were united in marriage on April 18, 1947 in Beckemeyer and made their home on their farm near Keyesport where Elenor farmed along with her husband. Elenor remembers hauling calves in the trunk of their car. Following James' death on July 18, 1999, Elenor moved to Donnellson, IL. where she is known as an outstanding cook, especially her beef and noodles. Elenor enjoyed the outdoors, enjoyed sewing and quilting, her flower garden, and her cats and dogs. Elenor worked briefly for Community Care and assisted the aged in their homes.

Elenor is the last of her generation of six Eveland children being preceded in death by her five siblings: Marie McManaway, Inez Thomas, twins: Alma Fay Eveland and Joseph Lee Eveland, and William Eveland, her parents, and her husband James.

Elenor is survived by nieces Lorraine Thomas (Randall deceased) Loy of Raymondville, MO, whom Elenor raised, Pat Thomas (Gaylord) Loy, Claudine McManaway (Kenneth deceased) Rush, Debbie Eveland, all of Effingham, nephew John (Mary)Thomas of Texas, and sister in law Doris Eveland of Effingham.

The entire family would like to thank her neighbors in Donnellson, Lola Baum and Mike McCario for their devotion to Elenor.
