Louise Hampsten, 89, of Salem, formerly of Kinmundy died at 7pm Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the home of her daughter in Salem.

Funeral services will be Sunday, November 25, at 1:30pm at Neal Funeral Home in Kinmundy.  Burial in Pratt Cemetery, west of Patoka.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8pm Saturday.  Memorials to Kinmundy Christian Church or TIP Hospice.  Condolences to www.jwnealfuneralhome.net

She was born October 19, 1923 in Marion County, the daughter of Luther and Rachel M. (Sheperd) Barnes.  She married Virgil L. Hampsten on October 21, 1941 in St. Charles, Missouri.  She was a retired machine operator for Brown Shoe Company in Salem and was a member of Kinmundy Christian Church.

Survivors include one son, Dennis Hampsten and wife Sue of Flora...one daughter, Brenda Wilson and husband David of Salem...one brother, Ralph Barnes and wife Dorothy of Salem...one sister, Gladys Laux and husband Wilson of Carlyle...two sisters-in-law, Helen Hampsten and Leona Hampsten...four grandchildren, Neil Wilson, Kirk Wilson, Sarah Hampsten and James Hampsten...and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents...her husband...two brothers, Loren and Wayne Barnes...and two sisters, Opal Brown and Jennie Barnes.
