Edna A. Braasch, 92, of rural Mason, died at 10:37 p.m., on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Effingham, IL.

Private family services will be held at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be expressed at www.giesekingfh.com.

Edna was born on February 15, 1920 in rural Mason, Effingham County, the daughter of William and Anna (Trost) Berg. She was baptized on February 29, 1920 and confirmed on April 9, 1933 at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church. She married Marcus T. Braasch on December 4, 1943 at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church Parsonage in rural Altamont. Marcus preceded her in death on April 4, 2005. She had been a home maker and farm wife. She was a member of Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her sons, Harry Braasch and his wife Sandra of Altamont and Ray Braasch of Mason, 3 step grandsons, several step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers; Otto Berg and his wife Wilma and Henry Berg and his wife Leona.
