Betty L. Springs, 90, of Neoga died at 5:35am Tuesday, March 7, 2017 in the Heartland Christian Village of Neoga.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 11 in the United Presbyterian Church of Neoga, with the Rev. Andrew Clark, officiating. As per the wishes of Mrs. Springs, her body was donated to Medical Science and burial will be held at a later date. The Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be sent to the Kemmerer Christian Village, 941 North 2500 E. Rd., Assumption, IL  61510, or to the Heartland Christian Village, 101 Trowbridge Rd., Neoga, IL  62447.

Betty was born December 5, 1926, in Tulsa, Oklahoma the daughter of Hobart F. and Mattie B. (Stamps) Landreth. She married Ray H. Springs, December 21, 1948, in Portales, New Mexico and Mr. Springs passed away July 29, 1989. Betty was an active member of the United Presbyterian Church of Neoga, IL and she was a retired School Teacher. She retired from the Effingham, Illinois School District # 40, she was a member of the Effingham County, State of Illinois and the National Retired Teacher's Association. Mrs. Springs was also a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Evergreen Chapter # 96 of the Eastern Star. Betty was a member and served on the Board of Directors of Kemmerer Christian Village of Assumption, Il for thirteen years. She never met a stranger and always had a big smile for everyone.

She leaves two Nephews, Hobie Michael Landreth of Denver, Colorado and Phillip Andrew Landreth and wife Jennifer of Denver, Colorado; one niece, Linda May of Jacksonville, Illinois; one sister-in-law, Viola Dowland of Jacksonville, Illinois; one great niece and one great nephew.

Mrs.Springs was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ray H. Springs; one brother, one nephew and one infant sister.
