William C. “Bill” Runde, 88, passed away at 7:18 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at his home in Teutopolis.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 4 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham, with a 6:30 p.m. parish prayer service. Memorial donations may be made to Guardian Angel.

Bill was born February 6, 1929 in Effingham, the son of Herman and Mayme (Siemer) Runde. He married Ellen F. Sharples on April 10, 1959 and she survives. Bill was an accountant at Siemer Milling Company in Teutopolis for many years. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis, Teutopolis Knights of Columbus Council #2874 and the Wooden Waders Trout Angler Club.

Bill is survived by his wife, Ellen of Teutopolis; four sons, Paul (Julie) of Effingham, Bill (Silvia) of Teutopolis, Dan (Pam) of Ocean City, MD and Pete of Teutopolis; four daughters, Michelle of Teutopolis, Patty of Anchorage, AK, Carol of Henderson, NV and Angie of Kirkwood, MO; two brothers, Paul Runde and Gene Runde, both of Teutopolis; sister, Mary Angela Runde of Teutopolis; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Joe and Herman Runde.
