Norma A. Lustig, 85, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at Lavender Ridge in Effingham, IL.

A funeral mass will be held at 12 noon Friday, January 6 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the church. Services are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.

Memorials may be made in loving memory of Norma to St. Anthony Schools.

Norma was born on November 20, 1931, in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Leo and Lena (Haarman) Bourgeois. She married Charles Lustig on June 30, 1951 at St. Anthony Church, and he preceded her in death on October 16, 1993. Norma enjoyed family gatherings and cooking. She had a love for gardening and nature. She also attended many functions at the Effingham County Senior Center. A favorite card game of hers was pinochle. Norma was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and the Ladies Sodality.

Norma is survived by her children, Wanda Leonard of Effingham, Janet (Bruce) Hardiek of Bishop, Donna Whitehead of Brownstown, Timothy (Margaret) Lustig of Norman, OK, Tom (Brenda) Lustig of Effingham, Jim (Jayme) Lustig of Effingham, Sandy (Brad) Kabbes of Effingham, Carol (Todd) Hoedebecke of Teutopolis, and David (Tina) Lustig of Effingham; 28 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph (Ruth) Bourgeois of Effingham; and sisters, Alice Niccum of Indianapolis, IN, Dorothy Niebrugge of Effingham, and Ruth Brumleve of Effingham.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Deborah Lustig; grandchild, Jeffery Kitterman; brothers, Jim Bourgeois and George Bourgeois; and sisters, Betty Bourgeois and Marie Koester.
