Verena M. Quatman, 96, of Teutopolis died at 4:15pm Monday, December 26, 2016 at her home.

A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 30 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the church with a 7:00 p.m. parish wake service, and from noon to service time Friday in St. Clare Hall at St. Francis Church. Memorial donations may be made to St. Francis Youth for Catholic Heart Work Camp. Bauer Funeral Home in Teutopolis is assisting the family with arrangements.

Verena was born August 2, 1920 in Teutopolis, the daughter of August and Elizabeth (Flach) Thoele. She married William Eugene “Bill” Quatman on July 23, 1949 and he preceded her in death in 2009. Mrs. Quatman was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis and helped her husband at Quatman Lumber Company in Teutopolis, that they owned for over 50 years. Verena enjoyed baking, playing cards, and hunting mushrooms and hickory nuts.

Verena is survived by her sons, Bill and Jim Quatman, both of Teutopolis; daughter, Kay Worman of Dieterich; three grandchildren, Crystal (Jamie) Hoene of Dieterich, Travis Worman and Derek (Mindy) Worman, both of Teutopolis; five great-grandchildren, Caden, Carter and Chloe Hoene and Jaxon and Jordyn Worman.

Verena was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill and son-in-law, Adolph Worman; two brothers, Bernard and Norbert Thoele; and one sister, Madeline Thoele.
