Raymond Lyle Shedlebower, 75, of Willow Hill, Illinois, passed away at 4:35 PM - Monday, November 7, 2016, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM – Thursday, November 10 at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Pastor Jeremy Henson and Pastor Paul Gray officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery in Willow Hill, Illinois with full military rites by the Robinson VFW Post #4549.

Raymond was born on October 27, 1941 in Jasper County, Illinois the son of the late Julius and Lela (Hamilton) Shedlebower. He married Naomi R. Beauchamp, the daughter of the late John and Stella Beauchamp of Palestine, Illinois, on June 30, 1984, in Ste. Marie, Illinois, and she survives. Raymond served his country in the United States Army from 1965-1966 during the Vietnam War. He continued to serve his country in the Illinois National Guard for 10 years. He was a proud member of the VFW Post #4549, American Legion Post #69 in Robinson, Illinois and the NRA. Raymond was a retired farmer.

Raymond is survived by his Wife of 32 years - Naomi Shedlebower of Willow Hill, Illinois and his Sister Edith Rich of Olney, Illinois and several nieces and nephews.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents Julius and Lela Shedlebower, brother Earl Keith Shedlebower and brother-in-law Gerald Rich.
