Terry Wayne Followell, 60, of Fallon, Montana, formerly of Effingham, died on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Holy Rosary Healthcare Center after a battle with colon cancer.

A graveside service will be held at 6pm Wednesday, July 20 at Edgewood Cemetery. Cards may be sent to 410 W. St. Louis Avenue, Apt. 11, Effingham, IL 62401.

He was born on January 22, 1956 in Greenville, Mississippi to Herbert Leon Followell and Winnie Emma Killebrew Followell. Terry graduated from Newton Community High School in 1974. He married Debra Kollman in 1976. They had three sons, Jeremy, David and Thomas. Terry and Debra divorced in 1988. He worked at Exxess in Newton and Fedders in Effingham. He loved horses.

Survivors include his sons, Jeremy Followell and wife Victoria of Altamont, David Followell and wife Sarah of Altamont and Thomas and his wife of Effingham...seven grandchildren...one brother, Percy Leon Followell of Altamont...four sisters, Emma Marie Stortzum and husband Jack of Kaiser, Missouri, Helen Mae Followell of Effingham, Trudy Butcher and husband Robert of Osage Beach, Missouri, and Tammy Jo Boyt and husband Buddy of Miles City, Montana...numerous nieces and nephews...and long-time friends, Cindy Thornton of Fallon, Montana, Buck Chaney of St. Elmo, and John Ruholl of Teutopolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
