Ruby Palmer (88) of Toledo

Ruby Palmer, 88, of Toledo, IL passed away at 8:10 am Saturday, September 29, 2012 at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 on Thursday October 4, 2012 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo, IL. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 on Thursday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be at Wilmington Cemetery on Friday October 5th 2012 at 11:00 am.
Ruby was born in Big Flats Arkansas on July 17, 1924 the daughter of Oscar and Rosie (Downs) Jackson. She married Phillip Palmer on November 13, 1941.
She is survived by her husband of 70 plus years, Sons Sherman Palmer of Wilmington, IL, Andrew “Hound dog” Palmer of Toledo, Melvin Palmer and Phillip Palmer both of Wilmington, IL; Daughters Betty Findlay of Wilmington, Cissy Webb of Arkansas and Virginia Marlow of Thomasville, Missouri; Brothers Preston Jackson of Arkansas, John Jackson of Wilmington and Floyd Jackson of AZ; Sisters Alice Robbins of Neoga and Fay of Arkansas; 36 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren and 3 great great great grandchildren.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parent’s two sons Roy and Larry, two daughters Bingo and Mary Jo; three brothers and one sister and 4 grandchildren.
Ruby was a homemaker and was a seamstress at PJ Gould in Joliet, IL.
