Barbara Juanita Kaufman Reiss, 72, of Brewton, Alabama died Sunday, September 23, 2012 after a brief illness. She was a native and former resident of Illinois.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 26 at St. Maurice Catholic Church with Father Adrian Cook and Father Gordon Milstead officiating. Burial followed in Union Cemetery, Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.

She was the daughter of Anna and Ferd Kaufman. She was a member of St. Maurice Catholic Church and was employed at Peach Chevrolet with 28 years of service in the automotive industry.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Leon Reiss; sons, Greg Reiss and Terry (wife Isabel) Reiss; daughters, Debbie Bell and Marcia (husband Johnny) Allan, both of Brewton and Jennifer (husband Derek) Jackson of Pensacola, Fla.; brothers, Alfred Kaufman, Harold Kaufman and Richard Kaufman of Illinois; sisters, Hilda Livingston, Rosemary Thoele, Phyllis Kremer and Margaret McCoskey, of Illinois; grandchildren, Michael Ashley, Parker, Sara, Kayla, Jessica, Paxton, Gabrielle, Haley, Myra, Tiffany, Meredith, Hannah and David and great-granddaughter, Elisabeth.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sons, Michael Reiss and Doug Reiss.
