Robert J. “Bob” Wirth, 62, of Effingham, passed away at 7:30 a.m. Monday, September 17, 2012 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., September 22, 2012 at Our Lady of the Ridge Church, 10811 Ridgeland Avenue, Chicago Ridge, IL 60415. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, September 21, 2012 at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 West 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, IL 60453. A local visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday evening (tonight) at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with a 7:00 p.m. parish prayer service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.

Bob was born June 26, 1950 in Chicago, the son of George and Rosemary (Grossi) Wirth. He married Marilyn A. (Bronkema) on October 27, 1972. Bob was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham and was employed in the Chicago area as an electrician for Commonwealth Edison for 28 years.

Bob is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Effingham; father, George of La Porte, IN; four sons, Brian (Laura) of Frankfort, Anthony of Evergreen Park, Joseph of Effingham and Robert Jr. (Jennifer) of Homer Glen; one sister, Mary Ann (Paul) Daniel of Worth and six grandchildren also survive.

Bob was preceded in death by his mother and sister, Theresa.
