Trent Lingafelter, 64, of Salem, Alabama and Willow Hill died Sunday, September 16, 2012 at East Alabama Medical Center.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 19, from 6-8pm at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama. There will also be visitation from 2-4pm Friday, September 21 at Shiloh Christian Church in rural Willow Hill. Graveside services with full military rites will be held at 4pm Friday at Shiloh Cemetery in rural Willow Hill. Arrangements are under the care of Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton. Trent was born May 20, 1948 in Effingham, Illinois the son of the late Leasel and Leatha (White) Lingafelter. Trent served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. He retired as a civil service foreman of roads and grounds maintenance division at Ft. Benning, GA. He was past commander of In Country Vet's Motorcycle Club; past president of Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association; was a Patriot Guard rider and former dirt track race car driver.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years - Janice Nason Lingafelter of Salem, AL...Son - Major Lonnie Lingafelter and wife Tammy of Montgomery, AL...2 Daughters - Amy Fuchs and husband Stephen of Houston, TX and Brandy Krutz and husband Eddie of Smiths Station, AL...2 Brothers, Greg (Shirley) Lingafelter of Willow Hill, IL and Randy (Dee) Lingafelter of Newton, IL...2 Sisters -Carol (Jerry) Johnson of Loami, IL and Janice (Carl) Purcell of Willow Hill, ILH...4 Grandchildren - Brittany Lingafelter, Kelsey Lingafelter, Jacob Fuchs, Megan Fuchs and Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Trent was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ronnie Lingafelter.
