Marshall Watson, 94 of Las Vegas, NV, died at 9:35 PM Thursday, September 13, 2012 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services with military rites will be 11 AM Monday, September 17, 2012 a Maplewood Cemetery, St. Elmo. Memorials are requested to the St. Elmo American Legion Post #420.
Marshall was born on August 30, 1918 in Fayette Co., IL the son of Everett and Olive (Grant) Watson. He served in WW II as a Hellcat Fighter Pilot for the U.S. Navy. In all, he flew 11 missions against the Japanese Islands. He was awarded the Air Medal and Gold Star. He also served in the Korean War. Marshall was retired from Caterpillar Corporation in Peoria.
Surviving are his brothers; Max of St. Elmo and Robert (Millie) of Hayward, CA, sisters; Louella Keith of Dayton, OH, Carol (Don) Keiser of Shelby, OH, and Janice (Albert) Niemeyer of St. Elmo, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Earnest and Revis, and sisters; Catherine Rogers, Velma Watson, and Marjorie “Marge” Watson.
