James R. Bond (81) of Effingham

James R. Bond, 81, of Effingham died at 8:25pm Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Effingham Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham, with the Rev. Lawrence Beebe officiating. Burial will be in Loy Cemetery, Heartville, with military graveside rites. Visitation will be held from noon to 2:00 pm Tuesday prior to the service at Johnson Funeral Home. Jim was born on July 19, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Reginald and Grace (Baldwin) Bond. He married Vickie L. (Arnold) Rieman on September 8, 2011, in Effingham, and she survives. Jim was a veteran of the United States Navy, during the Korean Conflict. He was a
member of the Effingham Elks Lodge, I.B.E.W., and N.E.C.A. He owned and operated James Bond Electric Company, Inc. in California. Jim earned his private pilot license and enjoyed flying. He was also an avid San Francisco 49ers and USC Trojans fan. Jim loved his wife, family, and beloved dog, Clancy. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
Jim is survived by his wife, Vickie Bond of Effingham; daughter, Madalynn Bond of Effingham; son, William (Rebecca) Bond of Torrance, California; step-children, Jeanmarie Carpenter of Mississippi, Susan Petersen of Washington, Scott Farley of Washington, Josh Rieman of Charleston, Illinois, and Jeremy Rieman of Covington, Indiana; grandchildren, Brad Bond of California, and Breeanna Bond of California.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
