Michael E. "Mike" Landreth (52) of St. Peter

Michael “Mike” E. Landreth, 52 of St. Peter, died at 4:35 AM Monday, April 16, 2012 in his home after a brave battle with cancer.

Funeral services, officiated by Rev. Douglas Meyer, are 11 AM Thursday, April 19, 2012 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, St. Peter with burial to follow in Ambuehl Cemetery, rural St. Peter. Visitation is 4 – 8 PM Wednesday at Pagel Funeral home, St. Peter and 1-hour prior at the church before service time. Memorials are requested to Farina Ambulance, St. Peter First Responders, or St. Peter Area Cancer Support Fund.

Mike was born on November 26, 1959 in Effingham the son of Glen and Minnie V. (Long) Landreth. He married Annette Bergman on November 6, 1982 at St. Peter.  Mike worked as a correctional officer at Vandalia Correctional Center where he was also a tactical unit member. He loved to watch his kids play sports and was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife; Annette of St. Peter, sons; Shane (fiancée, Alecia Berg) of Farina and Kyle of St. Peter, daughter; Kayla (husband, Doug) of Salem, brothers; Joe (wife, Barb) of LaClede, Garold (wife, Kathy) of LaClede, and Jim Landreth of Kankakee, sisters; Mary Lou (husband, Clyde) Murry of Flora, Irma (husband, Jesse) Simmons of LaClede, Debbie (husband, Mike) Smith of Farina.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Ronald “Ron” Landreth and two in infancy, and two sisters; Louis Jenkins and Wanda Adams.
