Marilyn Jane Dial, 73, of Moccasin, IL, passed away at 8.22 PM Wednesday April 11, 2012 in St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL surrounded by her loving family.

Services celebrating her life will be held at 1:30 PM Sunday April 15, 2012 in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City, IL. Pastor Bill Schwengel will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery at Moccasin. Memorials can be made, in Marilyn’s memory, to the Jayna Dial Benefit. Marilyn was born February 4, 1939 in Fayette County the daughter of Joe and Cleo Musser Phillips.  She lived most of her childhood near the village of Moccasin. She enjoyed blue grass music, gardening, needlework (especially quilting), assembling puzzles and hunting mushrooms.  She also loved attending area music shows and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She will be sadly missed by her family: husband Floyd of 55 years; children: Phillip Dial and wife Cheryl of Beecher City, Gina Dial of Beecher City, Barbara Dial of Altamont, IL, and Sharon McElroy and husband Tony of Altamont; grandchildren: Eric Dial and wife Denise of Beecher City, Wesley Dial and wife Elizabeth of Beecher City, Mitchell Dial and wife Kelli of Altamont, IL, Kelli Winter and special friend Bryce of Altamont, Damion Shumard of Altamont and Kiefer McElroy of Altamont; great grandchildren: Garrett, Jayna, Carley, Waylynn and Noah; sisters: Shirley Kneller and husband Robert of Shelbyville and twin sister: Carolyn Hammer and husband Norman of Altamont.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Harold Phillips and Donald Phillips and sister: Darlene Holley and her husband Ronald.
