Charlene Flood, 87, of rural Toledo, passed away at 12:28 pm on Saturday April 7th 2012 at the Cumberland Rehab & Health Care Center in Greenup, IL.
A funeral Mass will be at Christ the King Catholic Church in Greenup, IL on Wednesday April 11, 2012 at 10:00 with Father Mike Haag officiating. Burial will be in the Toledo Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 on Tuesday evening at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL.
Charlene was born on December 15, 1924 in Trowbridge, IL to Isabel M. Crose. She married Harold J. Flood on September 13, 1947. Surviving are her children Pat husband Bob Turner of Charleston, Dan wife Cheryl Flood of Toledo, Kathy husband Terry Darling of Greenup, Marlene husband Dave Van Matre of Mahomet, Larry wife Sylvia Flood of Santee, CA; grandchildren Eric J. Turner, Jennifer Van Metre, Chris Darling, Nathan Darling, Jesse Flood and Mike Flood; great-grandchildren Dante Alexander Bennett and Karter Joseph Flood. Charlene was preceded in death by her mother; husband Harold in 2005 and sons Michael H. Flood and Kevin Flood.
She was a homemaker and had worked for Ettelbrick Shoe Company in Greenup. Charlene was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Greenup, the Greenup VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Toledo American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
