Seibert Hoover, 84 of St. Peter, died Thursday morning at his home.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday, April 9, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church, Loogootee with burial to follow in Old Loogootee Cemetery. Visitation is 4 – 8 PM Sunday at Pagel Funeral Home, St. Peter and 1 hour prior to service time at church. Memorials are requested Old Loogootee Cemetery or the Zion Lutheran Church.

Seibert was born on November 15, 1927 in Fayette Co., the son of Clyde and Marie (Schwarm) Hoover. He married Rosalie Van Sant on December 1, 1951 in Farina, IL.  He was a retired farmer and US Army veteran. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Loogootee serving on the church council several terms. Seibert was a former member of the Soil Conservation Board, Old Loogootee Cemetery board of trustees, former 4H leader, and had won the Outstanding Farmer of Fayette Co. Award in 1962.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years; Rosalie, sons; Steve (wife, Dawn) Hoover and Greg (wife, Julie) Hoover all of St. Peter, grandchildren; Matt (wife, Anne) Hoover, Tricia Hoover, Nate Hoover, Amber (husband, Bill) Foster, Aleah (special friend, Shannon Demain) Runge, and Audra (husband, Theron) Arnold.

Preceding him in death were his parents, daughter; Gail in infancy, granddaughter; Melissa, and a brother Donald.
