Peter M. Grubb, 89, of Charleston, Illinois passed away at 9:25 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2012 at Charleston Rehab and Health Care Center in Charleston

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 17 at Bishop Funeral Home in Greenup. Burial will be in the Jack Oak Cemetery, north of Greenup. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, August 16 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be left at www.blakefh.com.

Peter was born April 13, 1923 in Olney, the son of Vernie Lamen and Lacie Agatha (Thomason) Grubb. He married Marjorie A. Kuhn July 2, 1943 in Fithian and she preceded him in death September 18, 1999. He later married Evelyne Robinson March 14, 2000 and she survives. Peter was a retired teacher and was a painter for many years. He also was a member and a preacher at the Antioch Church of Christ for over 60 years. He preached in many churches in other states. He enjoyed bowling and helped with the Sara Bush Lincoln Guild.

Survivors are wife, Evelyne Grubb of Charleston; children, Phillip Grubb of Charleston, Mark (wife Debbie) Grubb of Paris, Brenda Ely of Mount Carmel, Sandra (husband Howard) Taylor of Mattoon, Pam (husband Ed) Warpenburg of Charleston, F. Keith (wife Diane) Tobias of Columbus, Ind., Jeffrey Wayne (wife Chanda) Tobias of Columbus, Ind.; brother, Oscar (wife Susan) Grubb of Denver, Colo.; sister, Gloria (husband Joseph) Dreher of Danville; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marjorie and brother, Vern Grubb, Jr.
