Elwin O. Milleville, 90, of Altamont, Illinois died at 2:10 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Lutheran Care Center, Altamont.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 25 at St. Paul Lutheran Church (ELCA) Altamont with Rev. Wayland Middendorf officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 24 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont and for one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. Elwin was born April 9, 1922 in Moccasin Township, rural Altamont, the son of Henry F. and Malwine (Goers) Milleville. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church (ELCA) where he had held several offices and was a former member of the Men's Club. In his younger years he was an avid bowler. He was a farmer all his life and a member of Effingham County Farm Bureau. His great-nephew Jarrett Goers was his "farming buddy" since he was four years old and Jarrett continues to farm the family centennial farm. Elwin's great-nieces Tiffany Goers and Stephanie Goers also spent much of their growing up years with him on the farm.
He is survived by his sister, Adela Goers of Altamont; nephews, Dwight Goers of Altamont, Raymond Milleville of Moline, Don Milleville of St. Charles, Mo., Bob Milleville of Rochester, one nephew in Georgia; nieces, Delores Langley of Chatham, Nancy (husband Dale) Smith of Marion, four nieces in Georgia; special great-nieces Tiffany and Stephanie Goers of Altamont and special great-nephew Jarrett (wife Samatha) Goers of Altamont.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Frank, Robert, Arnold, Herbert, Welmer "Jack" and Gerhard Milleville and their wives; one infant brother and brother-in-law, Gerald Goers.
