EIU Valentine's Day Choir Ensemble

The Eastern Illinois University's Choral Ensembles is planning a tour de force celebrating the majesty of love. The Songs of Love concert will take place this Sunday, February 15 at 4 p. m. in the Doudna Fine Arts Center's Dvorak Concert Hall. Tickets are available now.

The Songs of Love concert will feature the University Mixed Chorus under the direction of Timothy Renner and the Concert Choir under the direction of Richard Robert Rossi. Featured accompanists will be Tyler Harr, and Ty Tuttle.

The first half of the program will feature the University Mixed Chorus performing Allan Robert Petker's Come to Me, O My Love; Linda Steen Spevacek's Barbara Allen; John Dowland's Come Again! Sweet Love Doth Now Invite; and an Alice Parker arrangement of The Girl I Left Behind Me.

The Concert Choir's portion of the concert features performances of Josquin de Pres' El Grillo (The Cricket); John Bennet's Weep O mine Eyes; Orlando di Lasso's Ich Weiss Mir Ein Meidlein; and
James Quitman Mulholland's A Red, Red Rose. Ralph Hunter's Five Nursery Rhymes will feature a number of songs everyone is sure to remember, including Humpty Dumpty, Little Bo-Peep, Little Jack Horner, Mary Had a Little Lamb, and Old King Cole. The concert's grand finale will be the beloved Derry Air by David Mooney.

Convenient accessible parking is located near the main entrance to the fine arts center and the concert hall is accessible to those with special needs.

Tickets for the Songs of Love concert are $12 for general admission, $10 for seniors and $5 for students. Tickets can be purchased online or at the Doudna Fine Arts Center Box Office. The Box
