The Crossroad Walkers left California May 16 and plan to reach Washington, D.C. August 15 at the U.S. Capitol. They will walk through hundreds of towns and citiies and one of them will be Effingham. They will arrive here Tuesday, July 22. Effingham County Right to Life will host a dinner for them in the Sacred Heart Parish Center along with the host families. After dinner the students will have the opportunity to share some of the experiences before leaving for a night's rest. Early the next day they will continue their journey to help bring about a culture of life. Crossroads is a collegiate, pro-life organization that was started in 1995 in response to the late John Paul II's challenge to the youth of America to go to the highways and byways and spread the gospel of life to all who would listen. Crossroads put together a summer-long pro-life pilgrimmage from the Pacific coast in California to the steps of the U.S. Capital in Washington, D.C. Since that first summer 19 years ago, Crossroads had continued these pro-life pilgrimmages.

Homes are needed for the walkers for just one night, Tuesday, July 22. If interested, phone Mrs. Jack Koester at 217-857-3060.
