The public is invited to observe Jupiter and Orion from Eastern Illinois University's observatory at 8 pm. Friday, March 29. Even if it's cloudy, the facilty will be open for tours. Eastern's observatory, which features a state-of-the-art, 16-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope, is located southwest of the Campus Pond. For a camp map, see www.eiu.edu/map.
