Effingham Cruise Night Activities Saturday

Effingham Downtown Cruise Night/Thursday Thunder

Join us for a fun-filled day awesome vehicles, special activities, displays, music and delicious food at the Effingham Downtown Cruise Night on Saturday September 10th.

The festivities get underway at 2pm with a Cruise-In, new to this year’s event. The Cruise-In will be located on the City Parking Lots along Front Street and the Washington Savings Bank Parking Lot on the corner of Banker and Section St. Cruise in, park and enjoy friendship, food and music prior to the evening’s cruise on Jefferson St. Kirby IGA will be grilling and serving ribeye steak sandwiches, burgers, brats and jumbo hotdogs along with chips and a drink. Musician Steve Frisbie will be performing from 2pm – 5pm. The Cruise-In is sponsored by the Downtown Effingham Business Group and proceeds will go towards supporting Hometown Christmas.

Make your way to the Old Courthouse Lawn, beginning at 4pm, where the Brown family will be serving 600 of the famous authentic Fisher’s High Boys on the Old Courthouse Lawn. A special tribute honoring Lynn Brown will be held at 4:30pm. Vehicles will begin lining up for the parade lap at 4:45 pm on North Fourth Street. The Parade Lap will kick off Cruise-Night 2022 at 5pm. Leading the parade will be first responders, the American Legion Color Guard, the Effingham City Police, and the Shiners.

Village Wine & Spirits will be hosting a Wine & Beer Garden and live music featuring Jane Doe from 6:30—9:30 pm in front of their business on Banker Street.  Additional Food will be available along Jefferson Street throughout the evening, including Kirby IGA, Taqueria Don Pedro, The Wurst Weiner, Homewood Grill Food Truck, Donut Dollies Mini Donuts, St John’s Church as well as the downtown restaurants.

Be sure to stop by and visit the special displays along Jefferson Street, featuring Dan Hecht Chevrolet Toyota, Northside Ford, Goeckner Brothers, Roy Schmidt Honda, Dust & Son Auto Parts and Legacy Harley Davidson.

All street legal vehicles, no burnouts or reckless driving!

2:00 p.m. - Cruise-in

City parking lots along Front Street and Washington Savings Bank parking lot

Kirby IGA will be selling ribeye steak sandwiches, burgers, brats, jumbo hot dogs, chips, and drinks 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Live music by Steve Frisbie

4:00 p.m.  Famous HI-BOY sandwiches, fries, cole slaw, and drink for $10.  Located on the old courthouse lawn.

Proceeds to Operation Blackhawk which provides for active duty soldiers’ families in our community

4:30 p.m. Special tribute to Lynn Brown

4:45 p.m. Line up for the first lap to begin cruise night

5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Enjoy free Cruising in downtown Effingham

6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.  Village Wine Shop wine and beer garden open, with live music by Jane Doe
