So, we are doing a thing!!

I am excited to share that Effingham High School's DramaTICS program has written and is in the process of producing our very first PODCAST!!!! We can not wait to share it with you all.

This past spring, our production of Willy Wonka was devastatingly cancelled just 3 days away from opening night due to COVID-19. To say we were crushed is putting it lightly. The musical has always supported the theatre program at EHS, so this was a huge financial loss. Coming into the fall, I knew that I couldn't let my students or the school down. We needed to find a way to have a safe production, be inclusive to all students, AND do it super inexpensively. After numerous conversations, the podcast was born.

The students spent the fall writing the show. They have finished recording and are in the final stages of editing. The show is a 3-part series with each part launching on its own night.

Act 1: December 18 @ 7 pm

Act 2: December 19 @ 7 pm

Act 3: December 20 @ 7 pm

The shows will be available on the Unit #40 Facebook page. The links will go live at 7 pm each night. Once the show is loaded it will be available whenever you want to listen to it.

We hope that you enjoy the show. It's much like an old radio show from the 1940's with a modern twist. Please share with your friends and help us get the word out. We aren't asking you to pay for tickets, but we are using this as a fundraiser for our program. It's so important that we get our feet back under us and I couldn't imagine a better way than asking for your community support. Donations can be sent to the EHS office, just mention the podcast.

I can't be more proud of my students and what they have accomplished. This isn't something that any of us had ever done before and to do it now with everything going on makes it even better!!!
