The first home Lightning basketball games will be played Saturday, November 17 in support of Kim Jackson. Jackson was diagnosed last year with an inoperable brain tumor. She is the mother to four children. Cooper is a player on the sixth-grade Lightning team and Kim's husband Tod is the sixth-grade head coach. The players will be wearing gray socks and arm bands to show support for Kim. T-shirts need to be ordered by Friday, November 9 and delivered before November 17 so everyone can wear them to the games. The cost of the T-shirt will be $15. There also will be a Bake Sale. The money generated from the bake sale and T-shirts will go to the Jackson's to help defray the cost of their medical bills. Anyone wanting to donate baked goods are asked to bring them November 17 or get in contact with Mandi Hirtzel Bushur at 618-238-4663 or email mandibushur@yahoo.com for arrangements.
