Ballard Nature Center's annual Outdoor Day is Saturday, October 20 starting at 9:45 a.m. There will be barrel rides (east of visitor center), face painting (front porch), trekking with Llamas from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. ( near silo), frontier reenactment (yard west of visitor center), folk toys (small pavilion) and games/crafts (front yard). Lunch will be available for purchase at the large pavilion.

9:45-10:30 a.m. -- Effingham Search and Rescue Dogs Demonstration: front yard
10-10:30 a.m. -- Backpacking with Llamas: near silo
10:30-11:30 a.m. -- Serengeti Steve's Reptile Experience; basement
11 a.m.-2 p.m. -- Fishing at kids' Fishing Pond
11:30 a.m.-noon -- Police Dog Demonstration: front yard
Noon-1 p.m. -- Science in a Two-Liter Bottle: basement
1:30-2:30 p.m. -- Illinois Raptor Center-Raptor 101 (hawks & owls): basement
2:45-3:45 p.m. -- Stories and crafts by National Road Reading Council: basement of center
2:30-3:30 p.m. -- Native American Lifestyles: north of small pavilion
