The Altamont Lions Club is hosting a Fishing Rodeo at the Glen Mathias Lake ( 2 ) two miles East of Altamont on Illinois Route #40. Children through the age of 14 are invited to participate from 8:00 AM until Noon on Saturday June 8th .

No fishing permits are needed for this is the observation of Illinois Free Fishing Days in conjunction with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources the Division of Fisheries to host a rodeo.

A free lunch meal will be provided. An adult must accompany children 5 – 9 years.

Things your children will need to remember to bring suntan lotion, fishing gear if owned and bait, sunglasses, lawn chairs and rain gear if necessary. If you do not have fishing gear, there will be poles and bait provided.

Prizes will be presented to all children in attendance.

Remember registration will be at The Glen Mathias Lake --- 2 miles East of Altamont, Illinois on the Illinois Historic National Road, that being Illinois Route #40. Signs will be present on the roadside to mark the location.
