The Greenville University Choir joins forces with three area choral ensembles for a concert of diverse musical styles, culminating in the beautiful Requiem by French composer Gabriel Faure. The concert takes place Sunday, April 28, at 3p.m. in Whitlock Music Center.

Founded in 1927, the Greenville University Choir enjoys a reputation for performing sacred choral music of the highest quality. Performance credits include concerts with the Boston Camerata and the Kingsbury Ensemble, invitations to the Illinois Music Educators Conference and the American Choral Directors Association’s Central Regional Conference and more.

Highland High School Madrigal Singers—This feisty ensemble performs mainly Renaissance music at St. Louis area events including the Festival of Lights, Kansas City Renaissance Festival and the group’s own annual Madrigal Dinner.

Bond County High School Select Choir—Christmas caroling on the Greenville square, annual performances for the Humane Society and Habitat for Humanity, as well as local performances throughout the school year round out this choir’s yearly itinerary.

Kaskaskia College Concert Choir—This choir prizes creative artistry, performing choral literature ranging from early Renaissance to contemporary works at community and collegiate events around the region.

During its 92nd concert season, the Greenville University Choir has performed in Illinois and Missouri and will take a 14-day tour to Mexico in May. For more information, call the music department at (618) 664-6560.
