NEWS RELEASE from Faith Lutheran Church, Shumway.

Britt Odemba who is a missionary teacher working in the Kibera slums of Nairobi Africa will talk about her work, her life living in Africa, and her choice to be a career missionary on Thursday April 5 at Faith Lutheran, Shumway. Anyone interested in learning more about life in Africa or mission work is invited to attend. The presentation will start at 7 PM with an early dismissal to accommodate families with school children. Britt however would love to talk with any individual considering short term or longer mission service following the presentation.

Britt is originally from California where she was a preschool teacher and administrator and did several short term volunteer mission assignments before becoming a career missionary. Her work in Nairobi has been in a poor neighborhood school, successfully restoring the school from near failure. Recently she has taken on the additional role as an educational consultant for Project 24, an initiative to provide Christ-centered boarding schools for vulnerable children throughout Kenya. Those interested can choose to sponsor a child in one of these schools. In so doing you establish a personal relationship with your selected child and provide that child with a loving, caring, and safe environment.

Join the meeting to learn more about our world and to encourage Britt in her work. Refreshments will be served.
