The Effingham County Museum Historical Presentation will be held Thursday, February 9. Dieterich High School teacher and lcoal historian, Kip Johnson, will finish his well-researched two-part historical presentation, "The 41st Illinois During the Civil War: From Its Creation to Vicksburg."

Last month Johnson descrbed the creation of the regiment. This time he will tell about the involvment of the unit through skirmishes and battles concluding with the seige of Vicksburg, a major turning point in the American Civil War.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the Effingham County Museum in the historic Court House on the second floor. The series will continue the second Thursday of each month through March 9. The public is invited to attend.
