Community Calendar

The third and final special service for St. Paul’s Lutheran Church 150^thAnniversary will be held Sunday, October 30.  

Plans for the day include Sunday School with history and social time at 9 a.m. Central Illinois District President, Rev. Mark Miller and St. Paul’s pastor, Rev. Steven Becker will conduct the Divine Service at 10 a.m.  The service will include special music provided by St. Paul’s choir, the children’s choir, and special guests Amy Kohnert, Dennis Lading and Jeff Stremming from St. John’s Lutheran Church in Effingham.  

A German style meal complete with brats, sauerkraut, and German potato salad will follow the service in the social hall.  After the luncheon, the bluegrass group Firebox will perform in the church followed by the drawing of the quilt raffle winner being announced. 

St. Paul’s history video will again be shown before the service.  The sub-theme for the day is RENEW and the new banner representing this theme will be raised at the beginning of the worship service.
