Smith Mill, in Rinard, IL, owned by Bob and Marlene Smith, will be having its 2014 spring open house on Sunday, May 11, from 1-4 PM . There will be no charge to see the mill and no
monetary donations will be accepted. We enjoy sharing our hobby of the history of water powered grist mills with our friends and neighbors.

The 18' waterwheel will be running and the "SMITHSONLYONE" museum in honor of Ralph and Elsie Smith, Bob's parents , features old hand tools, and horse powered farm machinery.

The Smith Mill Forge, a blacksmith shop operated by Bob's apprentice, Daniel Lewis, son of Lee and Melissa Lewis of Rinard. Eldred Simpson, Fairfield, IL blacksmith, will be working with Daniel.
This is a fully furnished and operating blacksmith shop.

There will be a batch of giant bubble making stuff for the young and young at heart and a washer pitching game will be set up.

A Mini hay ride will provide transportation from the road to the mill for those that need it or just for fun, but it is only a short walk. Also, the Mill interior is not handicap accessible.

There is some off road parking on the hill above the mill and parking is allowed in the yard of our home.

Smith Mill is located five miles south of Huck's in Flora, IL on Co. #1 (Blue Mound Road) or west of Cisne, IL on 161 extension (watch for Blue Point Church sign) then north five miles on Co. Highway 25
(CH 25) to #2353 (Blue Mound Road). 38.598858,-88.490271 - Google Maps GPS 38° 35.94 N 88° 29.39 W https://www. facebook. com/smith. mill. rinard. illinois
