One of the Republican candidates in the March 18 primary for the 4th Judicial Circuit judgeship has announced she is dropping out of the race.

Debbie Riley of Edinburg, who has a law practice in Taylorville, said she's dropping out of the race due to family reasons.  That leaves Martin Siemer of Teutopolis, who has a law practice in Effingham, as the lone candidate for the Republican nomination.

Siemer will be running against Ericka Sanders of Salem, who is the only Democrat candidate in the March 18 primary.  The winner will fill the seat on the bench created by the retirement of Sherri Tungate of Clay County.
