Effingham Water Authority trustees heard this week on a goose egg addling project proposed at Lake Sara.

Trustee Rob Brown stated there was a noticeable decrease in the goose population after the addling was done last year.  Brown said they will begin the process in late March or early April and are in need of volunteers again this year.

Water Authority Attorney Tony Siemer reported he was contacted by local attorney Bruce Burkey in regard to the new owners of Lake Sara Campgrounds making a proposal to lease the beach at the lake.  Siemer said he was also contacted in regard to a road easement assessment.

Water Authority Chairman Chris Kabbes reported the City of Effingham drew from the lake more than 34.5 million gallons of water during January.  Lake Superintendent Michael Dirks reported the lake is down approximately 20 inches.
