Infant Death Investigation Continues

Authorities have released the name of the infant who died at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital Wednesday.

The Effingham County Coroner's Office said the child was one-year-old Addison Scott of St. Elmo. The child was brought to the hospital emergency room by ambulance about 11am Wednesday, and was pronounced dead at 12:34pm.

An autopsy was conducted Thursday, but further investigation is ongoing by the Coroner's Office, St. Elmo police and Illinois State Police Zone 7 investigators.  The Coroner's Office said no additional information nor a preliminary cause of death will be released.

Authorities say, though, that no foul play is suspected at this time.
