Effingham Man Arrested for Robbery

An Effingham man has been arrested on a robbery charge.

Effingham City Police arrested 29-year-old Clint Matlock of Effingham.  City Chief of Detectives Todd Ebbert Tuesday said Matlock was at the Downtown Lounge when the incident allegedly occurred. 

Ebbert said reports indicate that a man at the establishment pulled some cash out of his pocket and Matlock allegedly grabbed the money and ran out the door.  Police found Matlock a short time later still in the vicinity and arrested him.  When Matlock was arrested, he was found to be in possession of an alleged controlled substance and was arrested on a possession charge.

Matlock was being held at Effingham County Jail.
