Two late-reported crashes from Tuesday, both involving injuries.

One crash occurred at 7:37am on I-57 northbound about seven miles north of Effingham.  State police say a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Ian Keith of Effingham skidded on black ice and ran off the roadway into the median where it rolled onto its side.  Another vehicle driven by 19-year-old Lukas Niemerg of Dieterich slid off at the same location and struck the bumper of the Keith vehicle before coming to a stop.

Niemerg was taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment of what police said were minor injuries.  Keith was not injured in the crash.

No citations were issued.

Another crash was reported about 5pm Tuesday in a rural area of Cumberland County near Mattoon.

State police say a vehicle driven by 31-year-old Michael Wolke of Neoga turned into the path of a unit driven by 52-year-old Robert Baldwin of Neoga and the Baldwin struck the Wolke unit in the side.

Wolke and Baldwin were both injured and both were taken to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Coles County.

Wolke was cited for failure to yield, while Baldwin was cited for DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia.
