Jasper County Board members Saturday discussed a need to remind those who carry a weapon under the state's new concealed carry law to not carry those weapons at county facilities.

The Board agreed to order 30 signs to be placed on County property indicating that concealed weapons were not permitted on the property.

Board members also discussed a change in funding of motor fuel tax from the pump to the wholesaler, from 18-1/2 cents to a percentage.  The Board also discussed New Wave problems for those dialing 911.  On Wednesday and Thursday of the storm, it was reported there was no service and residents could not dial 911.  Members agreed to have New Wave come to Jasper County to address the matter.  It was also reported that Cumberland County phones were out on Sunday night, meaning Jasper County's dispatchers got all of the Interstate 70 calls that night.
