The Illinois State Board of Education has set the map for 35 regional education offices.  The board voted Friday to approve reducing the number regions from 44 to 35. Members acted under a new state law ahead of Friday's deadline.

The consolidation of the offices is aimed at saving money. New regional superintendents will be elected next year to lead the new offices.
