At 2:55am Sunday morning, just 20 minutes after I-57 was re-opened following a serious accident that killed two children, another accident involving a semi-truck closed the interstate’s southbound on-ramp near Watson.

Illinois State Police and the Watson Fire Department responded to a call of a roll-over accident on the southbound on-ramp near Watson. The driver of the truck, 28 year-old Christopher Morrison of Marion mis-judged the curve on the ramp and rolled his vehicle. Morrison was injured and was taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital. He was ticketed for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

The Effingham Fire Department assisted at the scene.
