Neither rain nor snow nor gloom of night will keep a postman from their appointed rounds, but a wreck of the mail truck could slow things down a bit.

A mail truck was in a crash along I-70 at the Montrose interchange, according to Valerie Welsch of the US Postal Service in St. Louis.  The crash happened about 8pm Wednesday.

Welsch said her information from the Postal Inspector was that the driver, contracted to haul mail for the Postal Service, suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.  In the meantime, the mail was transferred to another trailer and taken on to the mail processing center in Champaign.
